Storm Damage – Coon Rapids Home
Storm damage struck this Coon Rapids home when a strong band of thunderstorms carrying very high wind forced water under the front door into the interior of the home. The homeowners were away for an extended weekend, so the water damage form the storm was not immediately discovered. The amount of time that water stands in a situation like this adds to the complexity of the water damage restoration process. The standing water warped some of the pine plank flooring and wicked up the drywall near the entrance. We cleaned up the standing water and then removed the baseboards to allow for proper drying of the drywall which had absorbed water. We then set up commercial air movers and dehumidifiers to aid in the drying process.
