Water Floods a Home in Minneapolis
The severe storm unleashed a large volume of rain that resulted in groundwater entering this house still under construction and creating lots of water damage. The pooling water on the concrete pad and the walls (no baseboards installed yet) created a very wet problem. Fast water extraction was needed to lessen the absorption of moisture into these components. Our SERVPRO Applied Structural Drying Technicians worked diligently to mitigate the water damage and to reduce the time of drying. It was crucial to set up heaters, air movers, and dehumidifiers to slowly draw the moisture from the concrete floor. No wood plank flooring would hold up to a wet cement floor. We measured several times to verify that the structure was dry and ready for the construction to continue.
